An industrial design is the shape of a product that is formed by lines, three-dimensional form and colors, or a combination thereof, and that is world-wide new and is used as an ornamental pattern for industrial and handicraft products
According to the defination, an industrial is the outside shape of a product;
and such shape should be new to the world and used as pattern for products in industrial or handicraft fields.

- An industrial design shall be recognized as world-wide new if before application date such design:
+ basically different from other industrial designs described in applications filed to the NOIP
+ basically different from other similar industrial designs publicizied in relevant information sources such as informations in connection with industrial design protection in the foreign, other sources.
+ has not been reveal to the public so that other average-level expert in corresponding field can make that design by relying on such design.
- An industrial design shall be a pattern for industrial and handicraft products if producer can made series of products containing such design with industrial or handicraft methods.
